Today is the 15 of December 2006. I have some time to create a webpage, and so I create.
After I have a fully welded, and aligned frame, I proceed to "Squaring Off The Head And Seat Tubes". I use a similar machine pictured below, which is just a disc grinder with a few modifications I've added to it. Easy to make. Does the job "fast and accurate".

These pictures were taken some 5 years ago. I've improved on the machine, but sadly don't have pictures of the improvements. The basic idea on the machine is there. I'll try a take a picture of the improved version, and added it on to this webpage later.

Above is a brief example of how the fixture is aligned or checked for squareness.

In the proceed to squaring off the seat-tube.

A bad picture, but I'm squaring off, and grinding the head tube to it's proper length.
This machine sure beats using a headtube-reamer/cutter-tool for squaring the tubes, and it does a consistantly better job of it. That said, I still have to use the headtube reamer to ream-out the headtube for bearing cup fit.
That's it for this page. Have a good day.
